While hiking, I find big beautiful patches of wildflowers growing in picturesque places. There are some hiking trails around Kirkwood Mountain Resort at Lake Tahoe in CA, that have amazing wildflowers. This area typically receives far more snow than the rest of the Tahoe area and anywhere else for that matter. Last winter Kirkwood got 850" of snow, that's over 70 feet! These wildflowers where photographed on either Meiss Lake Trail in the Eldorado National Forest or Winnemucca Lake Trail in the Mokelumne Wilderness.
